2018 “Best Places”: Aberdeen Ranked as a Best Place for Millennials

Our Moore Alive website is chocked full of articles highlighting various “best of” rankings and accolades that Moore County’s communities, hospital, golf courses, and other local amenities have received  over the years.  That’s simply because Moore County continues to score high and be recognized for its incomparable livability and the exceptional caliber of services and amenities it offers residents and visitors.

Niche has recently published their 2018 “Best Places” rankings, and it’s not surprising to find Pinehurst, Aberdeen, and even some of our less well-known communities ranked high in categories such as “Safest Places to Live in North Carolina” and “Best Places to Retire”.  Take a look:

We’ve seen similar safety- and retirement-related rankings compiled by various other websites before, but notice these new distinctions:  Out of 352 locations in North Carolina, the Town of Aberdeen is the 18th Best Place for Millennials (top 5%), and Foxfire Village is the 29th Best Place to Buy a House (top 8%).  Moore County is not only a great place retire, but it can also be a great forever place for young adults in their 20s and 30s and for families.

Known as a resource that families use for researching schools and neighborhoods,.Niche is a website that analyzes dozens of public data sets and millions of reviews to produce comprehensive rankings, report cards, and profiles for K-12 schools, colleges, and places to live.

For their 2018 Best Places rankings, Niche collected and analyzed dozens of rankings factors from federal and local government datasets, combined those with proprietary Niche data and community reviews from each area, and then scored and standardized all of the data and reviews for comparability.  Learn more about the methodology Niche uses to calculate their rankings.

Out of 100 counties, Moore County as a whole is ranked #14 in the “Best Counties to Live in North Carolina” list.  (The top 9 counties are urban with populations of more than 140,000.)  A resident sums up life in Moore County:  “Moore County is a wonderful place to live. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. There is such a sense of community in the county and all of the encompassing towns.”
