Manufacturing is Moore County’s fifth largest industry sector, with over 80 manufacturers employing over 1,800 workers. In 2021, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for this sector was over $221 million, or 5.1% of Moore County’s total GDP of $4.3 billion (Bureau of Economic Analysis). Our advanced manufacturing businesses use state-of-the-art technology to design and construct their products. Some of our larger manufacturers and their products include:

Workforce & Transportation
Moore County has an adaptable labor force of over 40,000 strong that is boosted by drawing workers from surrounding counties. According to the US Census OnTheMap, over 19,950 nonresidents commuted to jobs here in 2018.
We work closely with the local NCWorks Career Center and Sandhills Community College to help new and expanding industries find the right employees. We also have a wide network of economic, education and workforce development organizations that can help manufacturers create customized training programs for new and existing employees.
