MCEDP Launches Search for a Vice President

Moore County Economic Development Partnership (MCEDP) is seeking a passionate leader to join our high-performing team as its first Vice President. The position will serve as the organization’s second-in-command, partnering with the President on strategy and operations while leading the business development and retention work that moves Moore County’s economy forward.

The Vice President will have a real voice in strategy and budget, ownership of MCEDP’s prospect relationships, and have executive-level responsibilities, including representing the organization externally and stepping in for the President when needed. The role reflects MCEDP’s growth and the increasing volume and complexity of economic development activities.

“This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned economic development professional,” said Natalie Hawkins, President of MCEDP. “Our Vice President will help shape where this organization goes next, with a seat at the table on strategy and budget and ownership of the relationships that bring jobs and investment to Moore County.”

Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President will:

  • Partner with the President on strategic planning, budgeting and organizational leadership
  • Lead business attraction, expansion and retention strategy, including top-priority prospects and Requests for Information
  • Run the business retention and expansion (BRE) program and drive industrial and commercial site and building development
  • Build senior-level relationships with site selectors, commercial real estate brokers, and state and regional partners
  • Lead and direct staff, contract service providers and interns
  • Serve as a visible voice for MCEDP on boards, task forces and committees, and coordinate workforce development efforts with partners

Candidates should have at least five years of progressively responsible experience in economic development, business attraction, community development, planning or a related field; at least three years of supervisory experience; and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, urban planning or a related field.

The salary range is $110,000 to $120,000, with a 10% employer retirement contribution; medical, dental, vision and life insurance; paid leave; and auto and cell phone allowances.
