FirstHealth Consistently Ranks as Top Hospital in NC
Year after year, FirstHealth of the Carolinas’ Moore Regional Hospital (MRH) consistently ranks as one of the best hospitals in North Carolina, and 2024 is no exception. For 2024, not 1, but 3, ranking sources placed MRH in North Carolina’s top 10 list.
In their annual Best Hospitals ranking, U.S. News & World Report placed MRH as the 5th best hospital in NC out of 136 hospitals they evaluated for fiscal year 2024. MRH also received high-performing marks in several procedures and conditions including diabetes, heart attack & heart failure, maternity care, and stroke, among several others.
Business North Carolina magazine also ranks North Carolina’s hospitals annually using calculations based on more than 25 healthcare metrics. This year MRH tied at #8 with Duke Raleigh Hospital.
Business NC’s report noted FirstHealth opened its $68 million, 120,000 square-foot comprehensive cancer center in Pinehurst last year to expand and upgrade the services it provides to patients and their caregivers. FirstHealth also completed a $5 million expansion of Women & Children’s Services, and long-term plans include constructing a new tower to serve women and children at the Moore Regional campus.
FirstHealth MRH also appeared on Newsweek’s “America’s Best-In-State Hospitals 2024” list as the 9th best hospital in North Carolina. Newsweek partnered with Statista to compile 50 state lists plus the District of Columbia that collectively recognize 600 leading hospitals across the country. The lists were based on evaluating 4 data sources: a nationwide online survey for healthcare professionals, results from patient surveys, hospital quality metrics from Medicare & Medicaid Services, and a patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) implementation survey.
In addition to state rankings, FirstHealth also continues to make a showing on national lists that rank the top hospitals across the country. Money magazine recently published their 2024 rankings of the 115 Best Hospitals in America that includes such prominent hospitals as the Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, and the Cleveland Clinic. MRH also impressively made the list at #65. To compile this list, Money partnered with Dennison Data and analyzed more than 13,500 data points about hospital quality, practitioner experience, patient satisfaction, and price transparency.
