Business North Carolina Features Moore County Golf in April 2024 Issue

In its April 2024 issue, Business North Carolina magazine features several articles about golf in Moore County, the Home of American Golf.

In its 29th annual ranking of North Carolina’s Top 100 golf courses, the North Carolina Golf Panel placed 16 Pinehurst area courses on the list for 2024, with Pinehurst No. 2 ranked as the state’s best course for the 30th consecutive year.  Pinehurst No. 2 has been ranked #1 ever year since the Panel’s inception in 1995.

The 124th U.S. Open Championship will be at Pinehurst No. 2 in June, and Reg Jones is involved in every detail of preparing for the event.  As the managing director of the United States Open Championship for the USGA, he oversees all logistical preparations including parking, spectator transportation, merchandise & concession venues, grandstands, sponsorships, and volunteers, among many other details.

The April issue also highlights U.S. Kids Golf and its presence in Moore County. Since 2005, the Pinehurst area has hosted the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship that draws more than 1,500 young players from more than 50 countries each year.  In 2015, the U.S. Kids Golf Foundation acquired the Longleaf Golf & Family Club in Southern Pines and transformed it into a “Living Lab”, what the foundation calls “a university of all things golf.”
