NCWorks provides a complete set of employment tools for job seekers who can search job listings, create résumés and find education and training with the support of local staff at the Aberdeen NCWorks Career Center. Employers can post open positions, search for job candidates, participate in recruiting programs and access comprehensive training support ranging from an extensive catalogue of community college programs to customized curricula tailored to address specific business needs.

In Moore County, parents have a wide array of school choices. 72% of K-12 students are enrolled in the public school system, 16% are enrolled in private & charter schools and 11% are home-schooled. Through the Career & Technical Education Program at Moore County Schools, middle and high school students can explore a variety of career options and even get college credit for high school classes through the Career & College Promise program.

With its main campus in Moore County, students at Sandhills Community College (SCC) can learn a trade, earn credentials and certifications or acquire an associate degree. Under the Sandhills Promise, high school graduates who complete four (4) dual enrollment courses at SCC pay no tuition for two years following high school graduation. SCC also administers the state’s NC Edge customized training program, which offers free, flexible training programs to eligible companies tailored to meet the needs of new, expanding and existing businesses. In collaboration with ApprenticeshipNC, faculty at SCC can help employers create apprenticeship programs to help create a talent pipeline. The Small Business Center at SCC provides other educational assistance, including training needs assessments, customized training plans, and other classes and seminars.
